Nepal

Cradle of mountains. Birthplace of the Buddha. Seat of the Kingdom of Gorkha. The highest point on Earth. Faith and belief crowd for space in this holy land of heights and draw lost souls from all over the planet, seeking to find meaning through ascent. In fertile Nepa Mandala, the tripolis of Kathmandu (Yén), Lalitpur (Yala), and Bhaktapur (Khwapa) forms the Newar heartland. A celebration of carbon carving and Sanskritic ritual belief forged by Indo Aryan tribes since Vedic times. Born from the Himalaya mountains, and shaken to death by them, in the quiet courage and happy fearlessness of these peaceful warrior peoples, Nepal lives on.
